One night, Mamma Mia tells Zander that she doesn’t exist. Zander demands to know what she’s talking about. Mia explains she’s the figment of his imagination and extension of his power. Zander asks how he could exist if his mother doesn’t. Mia tells him.

He is a manifestation of concentrated magic. Zachary and Zantanna and other magicians trapped him in a form 17 years prior. Zachary modeled the being after himself, naturally, but gave Zander golden eyes, like the only girl he had ever really loved.
